Happy New Year, darlings! 🥂 I’ve been quietly potting about the flat this week, writing down my resolutions and focusing on bringing more gentle positivity into my daily routine. In the spirit of finding happiness in the little things, I simply must introduce you to the newest, sweetest resident of my home office who has arrived just in time to keep my spirits high.
Meet Suki, The Shrimp Sashimi Sweetheart
Please give a warm welcome to Suki, my delightful new Shrimp Sushi Plush! 🍤 She is the sous-chef I never knew I needed. In fact, Suki has quite the storied past running a prestigious, high-speed conveyor belt restaurant in the neon-lit districts of Osaka. But the hustle and bustle became a tad overwhelming for a shrimp of her stature, so she’s taken up residence on my kitchen shelf!
We first met during a late-night search for quirky kitchen decor to brighten up my cooking space, and I knew instantly we were meant to be. She has such a distinct personality; with her vibrant coral-orange hue and those charming white stripes detailing her "shrimp" segments, she looks simply darling. I’m particularly fond of the black nori band wrapped snugly around her middle—it gives her such a smart, put-together appearance, keeping her uniform crisp even in retirement!
Suki has settled in marvelously on the open kitchen shelf, nestled right amongst my collection of vintage recipe books and the jar of wooden utensils. She looks quite at home there, surveying the room with her tiny, eager beady eyes and that stitched-on smile that say, "I’m soy happy to see you!" whenever I glance over. She brings such a cheeky, organic warmth to the room, adding a splash of fun to my morning routine. Honestly, she is shrimply irresistible and has quickly become the star of my breakfast nook!
