It’s been a delightfully muddy week here! I’ve been busy pottering about the greenhouse, coaxing my sleepy seedlings to wake up for spring. My green fingers are admittedly a bit pale, so I was thrilled when a botanical companion arrived who requires absolutely zero water and promises to stay evergreen.
Meet Vera the Aloe
Allow me to introduce Vera the Aloe Plant. Rumor has it she spent her seedling years in a dusty university library, keeping the encyclopedias company and absorbing wisdom through osmosis, before deciding she needed a sunnier spot to retire. Lucky for me, she traveled all the way from the library's secret soft-sculpture garden just to bring some calm to my chaotic desk. I found her waiting patiently, looking for a home where she wouldn't be mistaken for a salad ingredient—she practically grew on me instantly!
Vera has quite the personality; she has settled perfectly onto the corner of my workspace, nestled right between my stack of journals and a Skandinavisk Skog "Forest" scented candle. She has this cheeky little smile, I swear when the afternoon sunshine streaks across the desk, I catch her basking in the glow, looking thoroughly pleased with herself!
